Since 2008, 450+ thoroughly-vetted innovators have taken the stages at Phocuswright Innovation events on three continents.

Held for the first time at TTE; Phocuswright’s Battleground: EMEA featured 6 of the most innovative early-stage travel startups from the region. Each company had just 9 minutes to demonstrate their fresh ideas in front of potential investors, partners and a live audience.

We would like to thank all of our finalists for taking part and say a huge congratulations to this year's winner: Iomob. They will now move on to compete in Phocuswright Summit: EMEA during Phocuswright Europe 2020 in Amsterdam.

Autoura delivers vehicle based, branded, in-destination travel experiences. Their platform powers sightseeing and experiences via foot, bicycles, electric scooters and autonomous vehicles (soon).

The transition from human driven large tour buses to smaller autonomous vehicles is a once in a generation change for the global sightseeing industry. Autonomous vehicles enable Autoura to design new customer experiences that could make existing tour buses obsolete. Likewise, the rise of urban micromobility (e.g. electric scooters) creates a similar customer experience redefining opportunity.

Autoura's mission is to build the technology platform that will enable autonomous vehicle sightseeing on a global scale, applying a collaborative, cross-industry, mindset along the way.

Grapevine is a UK based startup using Machine Learning (ML) to provide personalised content solutions to travel businesses.

Their proprietary ML tool integrates seamlessly with travel business platforms, enabling them to provide personalised destination content and offers to their customers, both pre and during trips, so they can increase engagement and drive revenues in a cost efficient and scalable way.

Hotailors was established as a company in 2016, and has since gained a reputation as a young company with the ability to execute their travel solutions with large corporations.

Building on the team’s technological strengths, Hotailors continues to expand globally, innovating travel in key markets and attracting attention from corporates, media and travellers alike.

Hotailors has grown from a small team, to well over 50 people worldwide in locations like Poland, Dublin, Luxembourg, Dubai and the USA.

StoryTracks is a storytelling platform which provides one of the most authentic means of digital engagement in travel today.

They have developed a highly engaging and immersive mobile application which allows travel clients to create and distribute audio and video content through multiple channels connecting them with their target customers.  

StoryTrack's tech stack is fully complete, built to scale and can handle up to 1.5 million uploads per minute with unlimited viewing.

They were awarded Top 10 E.U. startup in 2019 by E.U. Startup Lighthouse and were nominated for best Entrepreneurial Innovation at the 2019 Irish Tourism Industry Awards.
